Sketch's Director of Accounting will be our first cornerstone hire in Accounting. You’ll build and lead the accounting function for our rapidly growing company and ensure timely and accurate accounting and financial reporting. This is a high visibility role that offers the opportunity to stretch your skills as a global leader in an exciting and fast-moving space. This role is remote and reports to the COO.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Establishing in-house accounting as a vibrant, service-oriented function and contributor to the business.
Working with the business to identify, resolve and document complex accounting issues and transactions as needed.
Leading our efforts in all aspects of accounting including but not limited to: general ledger, revenue recognition, billing/accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash reconciliation, and payroll.
Leading all monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes including reviewing and posting journal entries, reviewing account reconciliations, and consolidation.
Maintaining fiscal records and preparing financial reports in compliance with the company’s reporting requirements and operating procedures.
Scaling and developing our financial system infrastructure, as needed.
Spearheading the evaluation and adoption of accounting standards and updates, as needed, including maintaining relevant accounting policies.
Continually improving procedures, processes and systems.
Managing the audit process.
At least 10 years of combined technical accounting experience in a public accounting and technology organization, including 3+ years of management experience.
Big four experience required and CPA certification is highly preferred.
Excellent technical, analytical, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Consistent track record of strong organizational skills.
The ability to thrive in a changing environment and be able to work with senior management to influence decision making, work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Experience hiring, managing and mentoring a team.
A self-starter who can diagnose inefficiencies and optimize processes to maximize results.
Technical knowledge of and ability to apply GAAP or IFRS.
Advanced Excel and analytical skills to review and analyze complex financial information.
Solutions-oriented subject matter expert.
Our team works remotely and communicates mostly using text, so you will need to have excellent communication skills and written English. You will also need to be highly self-motivated.
While this is a remote position, travel should be expected for certain in-person meetings and team gatherings.
