Can I use real-time collaboration in Sketch in my browser?
Real-time collaboration is available in beta as part of version 71 of the Mac app. We’re slowly rolling out this update to everyone so if you haven’t been prompted to download it just yet, don’t worry — it will be available for you soon!
Real-time collaboration is not available in browsers.
Sketch works in an App environment, and real-time collaboration is a feature of the Mac app itself. While you can only use real-time collaboration in the Mac app, you can use the browser to view, comment, inspect and share your documents.
If you’re working on a document using real-time collaboration and you go offline, the Mac app will temporarily store the changes you make locally. When you get back online, the Mac app will send your changes to Cloud and update the document for all collaborators.
Keep in mind that to use real-time collaboration you’ll need access to the Mac app, an active Teams or Personal Subscription (if you are inviting external users), or an active Sketch license and Cloud account (if you are being invited). Also, to collaborate on a document that’s not yours, you’ll need to have editing permissions for that document.
