It’s 2026, and if you’re thinking of switching up your design tool, we figured it was a good moment to reintroduce ourselves.
Maybe you’re discovering us for the first time, or you’re revisiting for the first time in a while. Either way, there’s a lot to talk about. Here’s what we’ve got to offer, and what we’ve added in the past year.
1. An editor for designers, by designers
Last year, we gave our editor a major redesign — the biggest since 2020 — making it feel right at home on macOS Tahoe. This redesign was far more than a fresh coat of paint, though, it was an opportunity to improve areas of the app that we all use everyday.
From the completely new Inspector with its moveable panels, to smaller additions like focus mode in the layer list, we’ve put a lot of care and attention into making this a great space for designers to do their best work.
2. All the features you’d expect…
In 2025, we added a whole host of features that you’d rightly expect from a modern design tool. Stacks and frames make Sketch an even better home for UI design. Progressive blur and one-click fade effects give you even bigger toolkit to add polish to your work. And that’s just the start.
We’re only just scratching the surface here and there’s a lot more we could talk about. You’ll find every single feature in Sketch over at sketch.com/features — take a look, we’ve probably got what you’re looking for.
3. …and some you didn’t expect
We’re a small team of designers and makers who use our own product every day. That comes with a lot of advantages, one of them being that we occasionally build features that people didn’t necessarily know they needed… until they tried them.
A minimap to quickly navigate large documents. A command bar to find any tool or action in a few keystrokes. Automatic concentric corners that take all the effort out of calculating corner radii. These wound up being some of the most popular features we shipped in recent years.
4. The freedom to work how you want
Want to collaborate in real-time with other designers? Sure! Need to work completely offline with local files? You can do that with Sketch, too. The choice is completely yours.
We started life as a standalone Mac app, so naturally we support a full offline workflow and the ability to store your documents wherever you like. But we also have everything you need to collaborate with the rest of your team, in the same document (more on this later).
5. Connect your favorite AI client
Late last year, we added a local MCP server to Sketch, giving you the option to connect Claude, Codex, or any other MCP-compatible AI tool to your designs. You can ask questions about your designs, generate code from them, and so much more.
Our MCP server is local only and off by default. You have full control over which AI clients connect to it and what documents they can access.
6. Share anything with a link
Want to show someone without Sketch your work? Just copy a link and share it with them. They can view your designs in any web browser. You can choose to share an entire document, a specific page or prototype, or even an individual frame.
You can choose whether documents you link to are public (so anyone with the right link can view them) or private (so only people you specify can see what you share).
7. Free viewing, commenting, and developer tools
Anyone can view your shared documents, leave comments, test prototypes, and inspect designs — completely free. Better still, if someone already pays for Sketch and you invite them to collaborate on your document, we don’t charge for them either.
Developer seats in Sketch don’t cost anything. Our free handoff tools work in any web browser. Devs can grab values, check measurements and even export assets — all at no cost.
8. A Workspace for you and your team
With a Sketch Workspace, you can store and organize all your work however it makes sense to your team. You can nest folders as much as you like to create a structure that fits how you work.
Need higher security? We offer BYOK encryption and private cloud instances for teams in environments and workplaces with strict security requirements.
9. Your first 30 days are on us
The best way to know if Sketch is the tool for you? Use it on a real project and see how it feels. You can start a 30-day trial of Sketch right now — no credit card required — and try every feature for yourself, for free.
If you need any help along the way, just let us know. We’re a small, independent team, entirely funded by people like you who purchase our product. We’d love to hear from you.
