Previews

Last updated on 27 Jan 2026

With previews, you can share specific pages or prototypes while keeping the rest of the document hidden. This helps you avoid creating separate presentation-ready files and keeps unfinished work out of sight.

Previews always show the latest version of your document. Any changes you make update automatically at the same URL, so you can share work in progress without duplicating files.

You can include any mix of pages and prototypes in a preview and create as many previews as you need. If you add a prototype, it will include the page containing its frames. When you’re done with a preview, you can delete it at any point.

Creating a preview

How to create a preview of a document in the web app

To create a preview:

  1. Open a document in the web app.
  2. Click Share > Create a Preview.
  3. In the modal, add a name, an optional description, and select the pages or prototypes to include.
  4. Optionally, set up access settings: enable commenting, inspecting, and asset downloads, add password protection, or set an expiration date.
  5. Click Next.
  6. Once everything looks right, copy the link Chain and share it with others.

When you create a preview, you only need to set a name and choose the content — everything else is optional. Only Admins and Editors can create and edit previews.

Use passwords or expiration dates to control access to shared work. You can edit these settings at any time.
